Day One of Healthy Living.....and a few errands.....and another snow day.

Day 8 in our snow day streak.....you would think it would make me happy! But I am a creature of habit. I like my routines. I'm ready to go back to work. The good thing is these past few days are because of temperatures, not bad roads, so I can still get out and do some things. Like today, I NEED to get an oil change before my car blows up. And I NEED to go to Zumba this evening. So my day will be planned around these two things. I was on Sparkpeople this morning and did a motivation activity. Listing all of the reasons I want to lose weight. Some of them were to look better in clothes, to have more energy, to play and be active with my family, and be more confident. I want to feel better and just be happier with myself and more confident. When I woke up this morning, I had gained about three pounds since I stopped Atkins on Saturday. Not good. Not good at all. I've decided to stop trying to rush this process. I'm going to focus more on keeping calories in check, getting enough protein and fiber, and eating A LITTLE cleaner. I woke up late this morning, so I had an Atkins bar and a V8 fusion. Good source of fiber and two servings of fruits/veggies. For lunch I'm planning a salad, and dinner will be chicken, veggies and possibly couscous. And here is where the moderation will come in. I am using chicken breasts, but they will still have a crust on them. I also woke up this morning to my stepdaughter sending me pins on pinterest of sweets. So I taught her how to make french toast this morning, instead of the funnel cakes and cookies she was craving for breakfast. LOL. She's making her second batch now. So, I'm off for a fun filled day of oil changes, housework, and cooking. With a good dose of Zumba added in for good measure. I also NEED to get started on some work for my graduate classes. I am trying to not be a procrastinator!!!! Til next time!
